  • I wish I read the reviews before coming here. This is my first time giving a review and unfortunately this experience was so bad that I felt the need to do so. I was at the mall picking up some items before vacation when I decided to treat myself to get my nails done. Shellac does not stay on my nails so I thought getting acrylic would keep my nails nice for a week-2 weeks. I did not get tips put on, just acrylic. A man did my nails and he was nice enough, probably because he didn't say two words to me. However, a lady manicurist sat next to us to do another persons nails. She handed me the shellac samples and told me that the polish I picked out will look "cheap". She repeated said in a not so nice tone to get shellac over the acrylic so my nails won't look cheap. I thought geeze, I use to do nails 15yrs ago and I don't ever remember acrylic looking cheap! Plus I'm already paying $35...its $10 more for shellac. I decided not to do the shellac. What a mistake!!! After about 4 days, I heard the lady in my head saying cheap. My nails did look cheap! The day that I got them done, the man seemed to struggle with the polish. It looked old. The polish did not glide on nicely. The top coat was not even. Leaving me to leave the salon disappointed. When I got home, I applied another top coat and it seemed to help make the polish look more even. Ugh! I had no time to fuss with the nails and figured I waisted my money. Anyway, while on my vacation the polish wore off at the corners just after 4 days. The unevenness looked terrible....especially in the sunlight. This was not a beach trip and rarely spent time in the water, so not sure how these nails looked about 3 weeks old at this point. By a week of having them done, the acrylic started to lift and chip off. At this point I couldn't take it and soaked them off. Luckily I had nail polish remover. Now, two weeks later, I sit here waiting for my nails to dry from painting them myself. I CANNOT believe how damage my natural nail got from this experience. I have 4 nails that have ridges in them from where the acrylic stopped. I hoping to be able to buff the top of my nail and not have permanent damage. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!
