  • My warranty company (American Home Shield) contracted this company to repair my fridge/freezer. I put in the service request and it took two days for them to call with an appointment time. The woman on the phone was rude and gave me a window on a Thursday morning. (it was Monday when I talked to her.) Thursday morning came and went and no one showed up, despite my husband taking the morning off to be at home. When I called to find out where the tech was they told me that my service time was on Friday, not Thursday. Which is strange since I was literally staring at the piece of paper where I had written down the day and time from the conversation earlier in the week. So Friday, I stayed home in order to be there. No one called to let me know they were on their way so the tech showed up and from the moment he stepped inside I was creeped out. Just a generally weird dude who raised my hackles. He asked briefly for what was wrong and I tried to explain, but honestly I don't know what's wrong. The fridge doesn't get cold and the freezer doesn't freeze. If I knew what was wrong, I would fix it myself. After about 40 minutes of poking around and telling me that my fridge was a giant paperweight and that there was no make/model number on it he decided he would "guess" that it's a fan problem and would order it and someone would call me in a week to schedule him to come back out to see if that would fix it. This was on a Friday. Monday morning I got a call from my warranty provider who informed me that the tech told them that the problem was a preexisting one and the fridge has been broken since we moved in/before our warranty went into effect. Which is a blatant lie because we've had the warranty active for almost two months and we've been keeping stuff in the fridge just fine until the last two weeks. I asked for a second opinion because it sounds like the tech didn't listen to a word I said, didn't know what was wrong, didn't want to do the work and then just lied about it so the company could charge me full price to complete the repairs. The second repair company called me a few hours after the second opinion request was put in and scheduled a tech to come out first thing the next day. Today the second repair company came out, identified the problem quickly, explained what was wrong and what they would need to do to fix it. They didn't charge me another service fee and will return tomorrow with the part to fix it. Unlike the first guy they actually took things out of the fridge to inspect it properly and even moved the fridge out to check all the parts. If your warranty suggestions ADA Repairs or All Desert Appliances, tell them no. Ask for Home Appliance Services instead. They are quicker, nicer and more competent all around. If I could give ADA/All Desert Appliance less than one star I would. By far the worst service experience I've ever had bar none.
