  • We came downtown for the last night of Restaurant Week. We arrived early as we realized we might miss the lunar eclipse! We were seated at a very nice window table by a young staff with great attitude! Ryan was our waiter and he did an excellent job, making suggestions from the special menu, pacing the courses and checking back with us in an unobtrusive manner. My husband and daughter ordered the street corn chowder. It was rich, maybe a little too heavy before a big meal, but very tasty. I ordered the duck quesadilla. It was creamy with goat cheese and little bits of meat. It came with a fig-chipotle jam that was odd initially, but grew on me as I ate it! My husband and I ordered the ordered the beef short rib. It was a pretty presentation with corn and peas. The corn was a little chewy, but the meat and seasonings were tender and delicious. We both had enough to take some home. My daughter ordered the fried chicken. She loved the meat and mashed potatoes, but not so much the chorizo gravy. The restaurant had a nice policy where we were able to order any wine, and were just charged the difference in cost from the special menu pricing. Here's the best part: Ryan checked with his manager and got us permission to go up to the 4th floor pool bar with our coffee, and put our dessert on hold so we could watch the eclipse! Perfect view! We came back down and ate our pretty blueberry creme brûlée and flourless chocolate cake at the bar with coffee refills! The lemon snicker doodle side was really the best! Overall, a very nice evening! Glad to have found a solid downtown restaurant!
