| - My wife and I had a hideous experience with Dr. Kane, and I cannot believe the way he treated my wife. We were referred to his office yesterday by our primary dentist who determined that my wife needed a root canal on a rear molar. We arrived at his office for the sole purpose of her getting the root canal. He examined her, took X-rays, and determined he wasn't 100% sure which tooth was causing the agony. He refused to treat my wife. He said he has never been wrong about a root canal, and he's not going to start today. My wife walked out of his office in tears. She had been suffering at that point for three days, in sheer agony, and he let her walk out without even so much as numbing her. He gave her no prescriptions, no advice, no information, aside from telling her to wait a few days and come back when she's "sure" about which tooth is causing the pain. I'm sorry, but it's his job to determine which tooth needs the root canal. There's no absolute surety with teeth all the time. The ethical thing to do would have been to perform the root canal. We later went to two other dentists who confirmed what we already knew before even visiting Dr. Kane, and that is that her tooth needed a root canal. Our primary dentist was in shock by the way we were treated. He performed the root canal this morning and she is feeling so much better now. I strongly suspect Dr. Kane refused treatment because we were interrupting his tee time at the golf course. What he did was unethical and immoral, and I strongly recommend that everyone steer clear of his practice.
