I know that everyone is trying to make a buck outside of the insurance companies, but imagine my dismay when I went to schedule a physical and was told there would be an additional $179 charge to what my insurance covers. My insurance covers me for an annual physical; no out-of-pocket fees. So why are they charging me for a courtesy new patient assessment? That's what a Physical is all about! The girl on the phone described it as a "2-in-1 appointment" in which my physical would be performed as well as being assessed as a new patient).
To be fair, the girl on the phone was very friendly. I did however, decline the appointment time offered to me because I have no interest in paying $179 for this so-called new patient assessment. I'm bummed. I've heard such great things about this practice. Onward to find a new doctor.
