After previously staying in the Yonge-Dundas area last summer, the neighborhood serves as a perfect jump off point for daily activities around Toronto. So we decided that the same neighborhood would be a good choice for our next Toronto visit this summer.
We arrived during the early afternoon rush hour on a Thursday and the hotel was bustling with guests of all ages and from around the world. A Rolling Stones concert was in town and there were countless conventions going about. We quickly checked in and were on our way. We were immediately greeted by long elevator lines that would haunt us for the rest of the week.
The room was on the 19th floor, with a view facing south towards Dundas Square and the Financial District. The room had a balcony but the door was locked so you couldn't go out. The room was a spacious King with a large comfy bed and a large bathroom. The room wasn't the most stylish but it was relatively modern and clean. There was free Wifi that was fairly reliable and easy to connect.
Many attractions are within walking distance from the location and it's easy to access TTC bus and subway lines from the Eaton Chelsea. There was an elevator repair crew strike during our stay in Ontario so my guess is that is why the elevators were running so slow but when you've had a long day, it's a pain to wait 10 minutes for a packed elevator. Overall, the room was not too expensive (booked on Hotwire) and room comfy and clean. I'd certainly return again but hopefully the elevators have been updated.
