This is how it goes.
"I should really get an eye exam soon"
Months go by.
"Shoot I should really get an eye exam soon"
More time passes
Then my eye hurts. Like really really hurts. Then I realize I don't have an eye doctor and really need to see one. And now I find myself frantically searching and looking for a good doctor.
I get an F when it comes to staying on top of my eye health. I've always relied on my family eye doctor but there's a small problem. He's in California and I'm in Arizona.
So today, I woke up with a very painful eye issue. I needed to see someone stat. I knew it was a shot in the dark but I called to see about an appointment. They were booked but instead of turning me away, they told me to come in as soon as I could and they'd squeeze me in. I was blown away by the level of customer service I received. Me, a total stranger to the practice. They treated me like a long time patient. As soon as I arrived, they welcomed me and got me right in. Dr. Mancha was so kind and helpful. She examined my eye, got me a prescription and I was on my way.
I've learned my lesson. It's always best to have an eye doctor who you see on a regular basis because when an issue arrives you need to get in fast. I have now found my new eye doctor and I'm so happy I did. I will also be taking my doctor in to see them and I learned that they do free eye exams on children 6 months to a year.
Thank you again to the staff and Doctor for helping my painful eye!
