| - It's too bad this hotel doesn't have enough pull to keep you there and not going to other hotels and places in Vegas.
The price we got for the room for a weekend in August via Expedia was pretty good, especially when all you really need is a place to sleep and get ready throughout the day when you're in Vegas, right?
But when we parked at the parking structure and checked in, little did we know that it was quite a walk from the parking structure to the lobby. And we walked along Miracle Mile, remnants of what was the Aladdin were still very visible. It's also visible in the hallways when you're walking to your room.
We booked a Hollywood Hip room and was quite disappointed when we saw our room. The website made it seem more spacious that it really was but the bathroom was very spacious, I'll admit. The king size bed was pretty comfortable. But the quality of the towels and washcloths weren't all that great. My boyfriend wanted to keep the washcloths since they were purple. But every time I look at them and feel them, I can't help but shake my head at how thin they are.
We absolutely loved going to Lombardi's Romagna Mia, especially for their bottomless mimosas during brunch. We were so pleased with our first visit there that we went back a 2nd time before the weekend was done. And the buffet was pretty good, too. My friends and I only ate there because it was within the hotel and we signed up for the Player's Club to get the coupons. And it's pretty convenient to have some of my favorite shops in the Miracle Mile, like H&M, Metropark, Urban Outfitters, and bebe, when the Fashion Show Mall is a little far to walk from PH.
Another gripe for me was the walking distance on the Strip in relation to other surrounding hotels, it's a bit of a walk from the Venetian and a bit of a walk from MGM Grand. But Bellagio's pretty close, practically just across the street.
Overall, I'd probably stay here again if the price was too good to turn down. Otherwise, I'd opt for staying closer to Encore/Wynn and Venetian (like staying at the Mirage or Treasure Island).
