| - I didn't have great expectations for this show, partly because it was playing at the Stratosphere, and partly because I was like, "how do you put together a whole show based off of a calendar?" Ultimately, it exceeded my expectations, by a little bit.
The dancers were very talented, overall I was impressed, they were all so flexible and did great acrobatics! The pole dancing was tasteful and fun to watch, although the pole wasn't very sturdy - it kept swaying and I feared the girl was going to fall and break her neck. The illusions were a fun surprise, I truly loved the part with the pillow (you'll just have to see it).
But the songs were pretty much all the same. The 90% of the dances were all the same. The Costumes were great, the sets were nice, but it felt like I was on repeat of an old record.Almost all of the songs were songs I didn't know, they tried a few 'more current' tunes like Katy Perry's 'California Girls' which was terrible. The singer was truly talented, I loved her voice! But really I just felt like 12 months was way too long... I would have enjoyed it much more if they got away from the 50's calendar girl theme and did a more current version. If the songs were all songs I wanted to sing along and tap my feet to it would have been much better.
The show's host, Claire Sinclair (Playboy's 2011 Playmate of the Year), was quirky. She was barely in the show which I was actually happy about. But she's not sexy IMO, she didn't sing and she can't dance, so why do they need her? Who knows? Anyway, it was an enjoyable time, i'm glad I went but it was just A-OK.
