| - I attended an event here for the Carnegie Museum's Third Thursday series. This time, there was a silent disco right in front of the grand staircase of the museum. Many of the exhibits were open and there were a few curated tours going on. Let me tell you about the disco.
I walked into the back entrance of the museum near the parking lot, and was greeted by the amazing museum staff. They had such great attitudes, were so friendly and amazingly informative. I spoke to the events supervisor and learned a lot about possibly hosting an event at the museum. Nisha was great. She told me about the tours of the exhibits, where I could find the cash bar, and other things happening during the night.
I then stopped by the cash bar for some whiskey, and proceeded to move towards the museums grand staircase for the disco!
Before you got to the disco, you stopped by the get some amazing headphones. These headphones are connected to the speakers of two separate DJs for the event. With the switch of a button, you could change the music coming thru your headphones. I put on my headphones and headed to the dance floor. And it was vibrating! There was a vibrating dance floor!!!! Cray cray!!! So everyone was jamming, in front of the grand staircase at the Carnegie Museum of Art! As soon as I removed the headphones, it was such a different experience, because all of the music was only coming thru the headphones.
The event lasted til about 11 which was great because you didn't have to be out all night to have a good time.
What a great way to bring different kinds of people together to experience the space in the museum.
It was such a memorable experience!
