  • I used to come here often with my family, and haven't been back in years. We decided to go back for a friends birthday, and I quickly realized why this place does not live up to the standards of a very nice steakhouse. We went on a Monday night, and the place was empty. They had live music, which would play for about 10 minutes, and take a 30 minute break and talk to people at the bar etc. The music was subpar, and Mastro's could have done without it. The food was also subpar. The filet was bland, and didn't have necessary char, or was seasoned properly. We also ordered the asparagus, and the mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were bland as well, and definitely not steakhouse worthy. The asparagus wasn't cut properly, so you could only eat the very tips of it. The waiter was nice, but unprofessional. He seemed that he wanted to get out of there, and took the signed bill off of the table before we left. He then seemed to have forgot about us immediately, even though we paid a nearly $500 tab. The whole experience was strange. The staff was kind of awkward and would come out of the kitchen making a lot of noise, singing, etc. I would definitely recommend Capital Grille over this place all day, any day. If I were to give this place a positive, it was that the waiter did recommend a nice wine, that we loved, and the decor was nice.
