| - Sweet bliss? What an aptly named shop, because that's what these cupcakes are: sweet, sweet bliss.
I wandered by here one day strolling the streets of Queen East and boy, I am soooo so glad I decided to pop on in. While Sweet Bliss is quite small, it is packed full of delicious, sugary goodness. There is a wall of honey and preserves if you're looking to buy anything like that, but up front is where the stars of the shop are: the cupcakes!!
Being super indecisive about what I wanted to try I decided to go with old faithful: Red Velvet. A simple cupcake but a good way to judge the quality of the shop. Wow. I was NOT disappointed. A sizable cupcake with a good amount of frosting. The cupcake was the most moist and delicious cupcake I have ever had the pleasure of consuming. The frosting was delicious and that perfect balance of being sweet but not TOO sweet. Sometimes I'm a bit weary of buying cupcakes near the end of the day because the cake gets dry and they aren't as fresh, but these were soooo moist it was like they were just baked on the spot seconds ago. My boyfriend even raved about them and he is picky as picky gets. I feel like these are the type of cupcakes where you could get a dozen and not worry about them getting too stale before you have a chance to eat them all.
I also had a butter tart square which was good, but I felt like it needed more butter tart filling and less tart. Regardless, it was good. It didn't blow my mind like the cupcake did, though!
Note: no seating on the inside, so you'll have to take your sweets to go.
Overall, a solid 4.5/5. I can't wait to come back and devour more cupcakes. For me, they have set the bar for any other cupcake I will ever eat. They also had ridiculously delicious and fluffy looking whoopee pies with marshmallow buttercream - excited to try those, too!
