  • I arrived in Montreal at 8:30 AM and the Sofitel hotel at 9 AM - well before the designated check in time. Without hesitation, the hotel provided my room at no extra charge. The room was very clean. My only complaint is the bed. It was very soft and during the night, it felt like I started to slide towards the middle of the bed. (But, to each their own.) The hotel is situated in Downtown Montreal. It was incredibly convenient to walk to many destinations: Eaton Centre, Museum of Fine Arts. The hotel is also close to Old Montreal and Chinatown, around a 10-15 minute Uber ride. Uber was incredibly useful during my stay. However, there was a surge price at one point (from a normal $30 to $80) when I wanted to travel from the hotel to the Montreal Biodome and Planetarium. Thankfully, the hotel was a 5 minute walk to the Metro and the hotel's concierge was kind and helpful and he explained how to use the Metro. Being from NYC, the ease and cleanliness of Montreal's public transportation was much appreciated. Recommend: 100% Stay again: 100%
