  • Good bye Longo's, Hello Michael Angelo's! I used to go to Longo's in Aurora for the freshest salmon and produce but I never felt comfortable shopping there amidst the snobby clientele. When Michael Angelo's opened, I ventured in and was amazed by the friendliness, customer service, and quality of everything they stock. They only carry the best at reasonable prices. I even found truffles in jars which I had only seen on tv cooking shows....quite expensive but genuine...one day I will splurge on a jar just to add to my culinary repertoire. I find myself frequenting this grocery store as it is so much more than just a grocery store. It is a shopping Disneyland! Aside from all the freshest and best items, they have a buffet-like section where you can load your choice of container with hot foods like turkey and gravy, lasagna, beef stew, lamb, vegetables, Asian cuisine, and a variety of soups, just to mention a few. Selections change from day-to-day. My daughter and I are runner/cyclists, so after a big workout neither of us feel like cooking or going to a restaurant. We just pop in there and load our choices of hot food which are weighed at the checkout and are able to enjoy the finest quality and nutritional delights at home. Every time we go there, we see items being cooked to order and say to each other, "Next time, I'm going to try that. It all looks so good!" The clientele ranges from "Hipsters" to "Millennials" to "Seniors", and everybody is polite and friendly. My daughter's favourite is the "Mad Mexican Salsa" which surpasses any salsa we've ever had, even in Mexico---and it's made right on the premises. My favourite is actually browsing around all the culinary delights and salivating over which I will try next. I would have given Michael Angelo's a five-star rating, but then I would have to give it a Michelin Star and I haven't sampled everything yet. This establishment is a welcomed addition to our area and I advise everyone to try it out. I live in Newmarket, but it is definitely worth the drive from any region. You will not be disappointed!
