| - An aquarium inside the bar of a very old casino with very bad service very far away from the Strip?! No way! Let's go there!
Okay, this review is 100% for the MERMAID Show at the Silverton Aquarium. If this review was for the actual bar or the casino, I would have to give it -1 star. The host was rude, the waitresses were rude and idiotic (who says I don't know when you ask them what type of drinks do you have at this bar?), and they almost, almost didn't bring out the mermaids.
When we first got there, the host told us that there was no mermaid show and that it was cancelled. After I got my NY on, he went to talk to the manager and then came back out and said that it was our lucky day, that the mermaids were coming on after all. ( WTF? ) We waited, and waited, while these two incompetent waitresses in shimmery blue Judy Jetson like spacesuit dresses came to take our order even though they clearly didn't work there on the regular as they did not know any food or beverage items on the menu. They didn't seem to know very much at all, now that I think about it.
I could feel the eyes of all the girls that I had brought there on me, wondering why the f I brought them to this godforsaken place.
Suddenly, the aquarium behind us came alive, first a scuba diver came into the tank, and then... oh then.. the most miraculous sight I have ever seen - a MERMAID. I forgot all my troubles and woes and glued myself to the aquarium to watch her swim, blow bubbles, spin around, laugh, giggle, blow kisses, and pose for pictures. It was me, my sister, some of the other ladies who came with us and about 50 children. For the first time, I was the tallest one at the attraction! #winning
I don't really care though, one of my dreams in life has been fulfilled. I have finally seen a mermaid in real life. Now, if only she didn't wear googles or have to take breathes out of a tube every couple of minutes. Then, my life would be complete.
No, but seriously, regardless of that, it is still very cool to see a mermaid. Only in Vegas.
