Ordered a bhel puri to go. Watched the lady preparing it, in disbelief. She had no idea what she was doing. Later, got the recipe from me. Confessed that the owner asked her to put yogurt in it and she had never eaten a real bhel! The customer behind me in the queue laughed her head off and said, "at least you know what the real thing should taste like/look like. I would never know." And that's it. The restaurant serves up the usual bulk-made, pre-frozen, heated-on-the-spot "Indian" food for those who don't quite know Indian food.
Fyi, a bhel had more puffed rice than cilantro.
