  • The staff are generally helpful to customers, and unlike most other stores and corporate chains, they don't hate their customers, or look at you as the enemy that needs to relieve you of her or his money. This is one of the reasons that I stopped going to Natural Grocers, and now go here. Like Natural Grocers however, I have noticed different staff people every time I shop there. High turnover is bad sign, and I believe that this corporation, now traded publicly on Wall Street, does not pay its employees that well. The place sells good and healthy stuff, non-GMO especially, like Natural Grocers. It is quite expensive though, so the buyer beware. Like Slaveway, they list two prices, one for the regular shopper, one for the 'special card'? A lot of their prices have that .99 ending like most corporate chain supermarkets. Even a small buy will end up becoming around 100$ easily at the register. Sometimes they are out of stock of an item, and other times they are overstocked. It all depends upon the time of your visit. They also like to put the packaged stuff that fell, or the produce that has only a few days left in the front of the display. None of their meats or eggs are local. Very few of their items are actually local. Supermarkets are not around to help us eat better, but to make a profit for the shareholder owners. If you don't want GMO food, then your only good choice is to shop here in North Scottsdale.
