| - Purchased a groupon for $49 for hair cut, wash/blow dry, treatment and 12 highlights. I had a very nice lady name Tiong (Petite, black hair, very sweet!)
Pros:
Firstly, I just want to say upfront that the stylist I had was better than average - nothing to go too wow over, but definitely good given the fact that it was a Groupon booking (i.e. some salons tend to give you the most junior stylist. My stylist had 15 years experience, knew what she was doing, and so I was happy with that)
I had to rebook because of a TTC issue, and they were fine with that (My Groupon wasn't considered "used" or expired, so props to them for allowing me to reschedule without any hassles). I arrived slightly early and they were able to get me started right away with Tiong. She was definitely the busiest stylist that day and up to a point, had 3 clients (including myself) to work on. Tiong was very professional, and listened to what I wanted. She provided some helpful recommendations, and was never too pushy (although she did persuade me to spend an additional $25 for highlights on the side of the head).
Location is great - close to 2 major TTC stations. I'd reocmmend getting off at Rosedale as it is a closer walk.
Cons:
The low rating really goes to the lack of cleanliness in the facility and wait times. At some point, I waited extra 10 minutes for my stylist to get back to me because she had so many clients to work on. At some point, there were 6 clients, 1 waiting client, and only 4 stylists working. I also noticed a lot of waiting for the other clients as well. What should have been a 2 hour appointment, ended in 3.5 hours.
The facility wasn't as clean or salon-like as I would have expected - it felt cramped and small. There were garbage (paper cups, crumpled paper, etc) around my area. The garbage bin was overflowing and it didn't look like it had been taken out for 2 days. I wasn't offered any magazines or drinks either.
