| - Seemed understaffed: waited longer than was told would have to. Perhaps because of this, the person that cut my hair seemed to be impatient with me.
While they certainly made an effort to try some things to get my hair the way I wanted, checked-in with me about how I was feeling about the look, and gave me advice about what we should and shouldn't do, I could tell they wanted to be finished with me. I wasn't rude or anything and the cut wasn't taking that long. I may have come-off as naive, having never tried the particular haircut I was going for, but I wish I had a little more support.
I think they offered to try to use clay, in a way to help try something so that I might feel better about the cut. They seemed to forget to use the clay, so I reminded them. After I asked them to try combing my hair the opposite way, they finished and immediately said, "Okay, man. Well..," as if to end our time. When we shook hands, we shared a certain lack of facial expression and they let go of the hand shake as if in a way to throw my hand downward, which did not feel very respectful.
I don't like my cut, but that's mostly my own fault for asking for what I did, or at least I feel that way.
Update #1:
Received 'compliment' and funny vote, from Ricky G., of whom wrote, "I appreciated your sincerity. Yes you should have known more about the cut you were asking your barber because...we deal with customers who like pictures of models daily and we usually suggest more traditional style as to our professional knowledge." I've added this to Electric Haven's pictures. Added picture of barber, below, from their website.
Decreased from two stars to one star, and I won't be going back. Not interested in interacting with people with low emotional intelligence and incompetence in business management. Additionally, witnessed something illegal take place, within the business, facilitated by employee(s).
Update #2: Ricky G.'s funny vote appears to have been removed. Although owner explained to me that they would speak to employee about refunding me, I have not received the refund. Also noticed the charge was 2 more dollars than expected. If there was a fee to pay with a card, I was not informed of it, prior to the transaction. Reported previously mentioned illegal act.
