Based strictly on the menu I was really hoping for a great dinner. However, I was really disappointed with the our dinner. We didn't go for the menu tasting but instead we ordered a couple of entrees. My wife had the chicken and I had the ribeye. Both were cooked very nicely and the unique ingredients made the meals slightly different, but for the prices they charge the taste of each was really just average. My steak wasn't very tender or all that flavorful. Her chicken was cooked decently enough but again the flavor was really just average. I thought maybe because we were there on the Sunday before Labor Day, that maybe it was an off night. But I just couldn't get past the fact that when a place must such a high price on their menu, there really shouldn't be such a thing as an "Off Night". The atmosphere and the waiter we had were very nice. So here is my take.
Wait staff 3-4 stars
Atmosphere 4-5 stars
Wine list 4-5 Stars
Beer list 3-4 stars
Menu 4-5 stars
Food 2-3 stars
I probably wouldn't go here again just because its priced to high to take a chance on a very average meal. There are a lot of places near by that you get exactly hat you pay for. Unfortunately Bacaro is not one of those places.
