| - First of all let me say, if you like good beer you need to try out Brasserie V. The list of Belgians is amazing and they have an incredible amount of tap beer for such a cozy place. My favorite beer there is the St Berardus 12, it is deliciously dark, creamy, on tap and has a high and semi-masked ABV (10.5%).
If beer isn't your thing the food is pretty good too. They have a quality burger and the kitchen seems to be dedicated to high quality ingredients, and often local ingredients (ex. Wisconsin beef from Fountain Prairie Farm.) Keep in mind, when the place is busy it fills up fast. I would also say that the size of the restaurant is cozy, so if you have a very large group this probably isn't the right choice, but in a group of four or smaller the environment is perfect.
If you are even remotely interested in good beer check this place out, I'm sure the beer menu has something to interest all tastes and it's also a menu that is pretty much unrivaled in Madison (The Old Fashion is comparable in quantity, but the difference is that the Old Fashioned serves good Wisconsin beers, but this place excels in European beers and Belgians.)
