| - A winery in the middle of the Strip District? Who knew? It's quite the hidden gem that you would probably miss if you blinked, because the bulk of the space is below ground level. The entry level has a tasting bar that looks lovely (I haven't visited it specifically), but it's when you descend into the basement and get a good waft of Malbec-scented air that you feel the real magic. The space is very large, and opposite the stairs and wine bar is a nice soundstage where they regularly feature local bands. Barrels line the room, and yes, they are choc full of wine. That's why you can smell it as soon as you walk through the space. I've been here for a few Yelp events and one live music performance, and each time I'm simply transported by the atmosphere, which is romantic and intimate for being such a big room because the lighting is nice and low. They don't sell food, so most occasions are BYO. Occasionally they will have a vendor bring munchies in, but you'd do well to bring along some takeout or snacks if you're going to a public event. I specify public event because they also offer private events, like the aforementioned Yelp, but are also available for engagement parties, rehearsal dinners, receptions, etc. It's an incredible venue that I highly recommend visiting if you get the chance.
