| - I would not hesitate to recommend Urban Orchid to absolutely anyone seeking a florist. I am not a flower person, and by that I mean that I am not the type of gal who dreams of lavish floral arrangements and when it came time for my wedding, I didn't spend a ton of time thinking about what kind of flowers I would want for my big day. My mother, who is the opposite kind of person, kept trying to convince me otherwise. We ended up compromising early in the process and ordered some silk peonies from Amazon that were actually quite lovely and fortunately, affordable. The problem was, we weren't able to find a florist willing to work with them to style on my wedding day. After wasting time contacting various florists who were vague and unhelpful in giving me estimates for how much my vision would cost, I decided to try out Urban Orchid. My journey began with a phone call, after which I was directed to a rather detailed form on their website. At this point, I was contacted to make an appointment with Brandon, who I was told would be styling the flowers for my event. When I met with Brandon, I absolutely loved his chill yet straightforward manner. I brought photos of the pieces I had in mind and was very straightforward that I was trying to cut costs by using some fake flowers. He didn't bat an eye and was more than happy to work with me on this. He typed up all my requests and was able to give me a direct quote in less than 40 minutes. As an overwhelmed bride doing most of her own wedding arrangements, this was so appreciated. I was able to go home with the quote sheet printed out for me, discuss with my fiance and decide on my own what I could afford and what pieces were must haves. In addition, Urban Orchid does not charge per hour for styling, and instead charges a flat styling/delivery fee.
From that point, it was very easy for me to contact Urban Orchid to make my payment and finalize everything. They didn't hassle me with questions the week of my wedding and instead assured me they would be there the day of my wedding and that everything would look great. Two days before my wedding, I had a flash of panic as I realized that I completely forgot to get a gift for our parents. A quick phone call to Urban Orchid and the problem was solved. They were easily able to add two floral arrangements based on the pricing I had in mind and included a personal message as well as including it in my delivery.
I was a bit anxious as I knew that Urban Orchid would be arriving to the venue earlier that I would be there, and so there was no way for me to check to make sure everything looked the way I wanted it to, however when I stepped in the venue I was overwhelmed with happiness when I found that Brandon not only captured my vision, he enhanced it. He used the fake flowers I had purchased and worked them into the greenery I ordered from him in a way that did not in any way make it look like I was cutting corners by using fake flowers. On top of that, Urban Orchid included a personal note and a wonderfully scented candle as an additional gift. All in all, I was so happy that I chose Urban Orchid as my floristry vendor, and hope that others will consider utilizing them for their own events. I have no idea how Brandon was able to get in my head and make my vague idea of a wedding vision a reality, but he absolutely did and I am so grateful for it!
