The food and service is excellent. But I object to being asked repeatedly about whether we were celebrating a birthday. We both dislike pubic displays that include singing and clapping by the waitstaff.
When we made our reservation was asked if it was a birthday or special occasion. We were asked four more times: when they called to confirm, by the hostess, by two wait persons. I assumed this information should be passed along. When the meal was finished, the waiter (no. 2, first waiter never appeared again at our table but was still working in the room) asked about dessert. We said we were told it was included. He acted so surprised because no one told him it was a birthday ! I think Ruth Chris should simply say they have a complimentary dessert but stop ASKING if it is a special occasion
