This place reminded my husband and I of a used car lot. It's all about money to them and you can tell that as soon as you walk into the door.
Our cat was having lung spasms after battling some kind of cold. I called them and asked their honest opinion if it was necessary to bring her in today (a Sunday) instead of waiting until first thing in the morning to see our regular vet. They said that she could die at the next spasm and to bring her in immediately. The exam fee alone was $99.
Once we got there, the doctor spend 4 minutes with her, then told us she would not prescribe anything unless we allowed her to do multiple tests, which would cost approximately $500. We told her we didn't have that kind of money, to which she replied that she couldn't do anything at that point and that we should follow up with our vet the next day. After all, our cat was stable and she saw no reason to be alarmed. WHAT? Are you kidding me? The exact opposite was told to us by the person we called prior to bringing her in.
Long story short, she said she would talk with the administrator to see if they would reduce the $99 bill since "they didn't really do anything" (doctor's words). 35 minutes later, they gave us discharge papers and told us the administrator would not approve a lower bill.
SCAM, SCAM, SCAM. There have got to be better animal hospitals in Charlotte that actually care about the animal and not the bill. DON'T GO THERE.
