| - Stayed at the JW camel back inn so got a chance to eat here for lunch and dinner. At first, I decided to sit outside in June in Arizona at noon. As beautiful as the view is, I quickly realized this was a mistake due to how hot it was. Also, I felt like the service takes a lot longer to get to you outside.
So, I sat in the R bar, which is right across from Rita's, where the menu is also available. To start, I ordered the chicken tortilla soup, fresh ingredients such as tomatoes, avocados, and cilantro. The broth was very good as well. I ordered the house carne asada tacos for $18. The dish was good it came with two tacos, some rice and fresh beans. The meat was very tender, the salsa was good and the beans were great, but, I just did not feel the portion was worth $18, but, I am sure part of this was due to being in a resort.
For dinner, I ordered the queso fundido. It was ok, I was disappointed by the lack of chorizo and the feta they added. Most fundido's, I have had do not have Feta it took away from the dish. I ordered the chicken poblano sandwich for $16, again good just did not feel it was worth the price.
