So up until I stepped foot into the Showroom at the Luxor, I really wasn't too sure who Carrot Top was. I had heard the name, and I'd seen him go from shrimp, to roided out beast. But besides that, I really had no interest in the guy. I was buying tickets to see the Jabbawockeez and they were sold out and asked the people behind the counter for a solid recommendation regarding what people were giving good reviews about. Surprisingly they suggested Carrot Top. My reaction? "REALLY? R u SURE?" They reassured me that he was one of the main strip shows people are seeing and that he feeds off the crowd. We decided to give it a shot and sure enough, he was pretty damn funny. He has several cases of props that he introduces that aren't so much funny by themselves, but the presentation and his personality are what make it hilarious. I'm talking about the entire auditorium dying of laughter.
It starts out fast and hilarious and a little over halfway through it starts to drag. I can honestly say though, that his kind of humor only lasts so long. It's like watching a great movie and then it kinda doesn't end when it should have. It kind of drags on just a little too long. Not long enough to be tedious though, and DEFINITELY not long enough for me not to recommend it. Go in with a light heart and a few friends and open your mind up for what could/should be a great evening of laughs!
