  • I went to Dick's recently. I hadn't been since the old location on Mcdowell, or Van Buren. Now it's between Phoenix and Tempe. In the "old days", it was mostly a gay place. They had all different kinds of guys, beefy, Asian, Black, twink, etc. They also used to do performances, not just slide around on the pole and strip. Dicks has changed! And, not for the better! We paid a $20 cover, and took a seat. I noticed right away that the audience was all women. There were no performances, just dry humping the pole, and swinging around like a monkey. All of the "dancers" seemed to have the same routine, none of which included actual dancing, or originality. All of the guys were the same type.. They all had the same Hip Hop/ thug style. They grinded on all of the women. My friend jokingly asked if I was jealous, and the dancer said that he would take care of me in a minute, but non of the guys actually came over to grind me up. Oh well, money saved, I guess. It seems like the dancers are all straight. Oh, and if you are going out to see dicks, it seems like most of the guys don't want to show it and only give a 5 second flash at the very end of the song. Really, this place is not worth the $20 cover, or the drive to the bowels of industrial Phoenix.
