| - This girl loves her doughnuts. What I love even more is trendy, hipster type doughnuts.
My first experience at Daddy O's was great. I have to admit, the area was a little sketchy for me, as was the plaza. Parking is limited, as the plaza is quite small, but people seem to come and go quickly.
Once inside though, I was in heaven! It's set up like a cute little diner. It's not very big at all - just enough room to form a line to buy the doughnuts. It was very clean. While standing in line I noticed that fresh, warm doughnuts were being brought out regularly. I like it already!
I was having a hard time choosing 6 doughnuts. They all looked fantastic! The woman behind the counter was extremely helpful and told me which ones were the most popular and which ones she liked the best. I ended up getting: maple bacon, ferrero rocher, he shoots! he skors!, lemon filled and two raspberry filled. The lemon filled and raspberry filled were my absolute favourites. The filling was fresh and tasted homemade. The doughnut itself was not too dense and not at all dry. The filling to doughnut ratio was perfect. I wasn't getting any bites without delicious lemon or raspberry filling. While I liked the other ones that I purchased, they were all slightly too sweet for me, but that has more to do with my taste and less to do with the actual doughnuts. They too were not dry and had the toppings piled on. Visually they looked great too, very appealing.
I found the price to be fair for fancy doughnuts. I will be going back!
