I've been to enough escape rooms to know the difference between one that was carefully crafted to one that was squeezed together to make a room. It was late night and I did appreciate them honoring the Groupon price even without a voucher. On the phone, the woman had said we can pick any room, but when we arrived they said only the Casino room was available so we went for it.
This was supposed to be a "diamond heist", but the room was so empty it just felt like an office space. I'm a full immersion kinda gal and the room felt half done. I had a slot machine I couldn't touch, a key that opened gaming chips that did nothing and all the puzzle pieces being in 3 drawers. When we reached the second room it was a bit better and the aesthetics felt more real. When you find a key, it goes to the "authorized employees only" door. It took us forever to figure that out because we are so wired not to.enter those doors. It was a bit irritating.
Though the hints helped, it took us another minute to understand the person giving it to us. Accent was a bit thick. I'm not sure if I would go back. Maybe if there was a good Groupon deal or.I had finished other escape rooms.
