| - Can you say disaster? I was so thrilled about purchasing two leather barstools for 69.99 per chair...Little did I know the ensuing disaster that would entail multiple calls with customer service, the manager, etc..I was fairly flexible with the 2 week wait time to p/u the chairs, however, when we went to assemble one of the chairs, there was a flaw in the cut which required us to do an exchange. We were told this isn't possible and that a "technician" would need to come out to determine which part it was that was problematic (seriously? a furniture technician?). I was a little irked but moved forward with the appointment. When the 1 wk later appt. came around and nobody showed I called the customer service line. The agent said she had no record of the appointment, but could reschedule (by the way there is a 4 hour window for which you need to be waiting around). I told her this was unacceptable and that I wasn't going to wait around 2 days for Ashley to possibly show. I did make the friendly comment that they may want to set up an email confirmation to verify that appointments are documented. Next, I called the general manager who claimed that this is soooo unusual and how Ashley is in the "Best of Phoenix"...blah, blah, blah...doesn't help me still no chair!...He offered to exchange the chair and that we should get a call from the wearhouse in a few days. After a few days, I still didn't get a call so I initiated the call. The customer service agent mentioned that it was still an "open order". I asked what that means for me getting my chair. She replied that the order would be placed and we would get our "exchange" chair in January. I bought the chair in mid-November. I will never deal with this subpar furniture store again. If you're desperate for inexpensive furniture, might I suggest craigslist, but Ashley and their unprofessional staff have been an absolute disaster to deal with.
