  • This is the place you take your mom when she wants to drink. Overall, Haufbrauhaus is an excellent night out on the South Side of Pittsburgh. This is typically where I pick when my friends want to get slizered on the South Side and I can't avoid it. The beer is good the food is decent and the atmosphere is excellente. Food The food is a bit overprice but the atmosphere covers for the extra dollars. I can't enter the door without ordering the standard pretzels and bier cheese. The beer is also exactly what you're expecting. They'll let you try whatever you want but if you're going hug, get the big cup. Never disappoints and you look like a bad ass. The Staff Staff is typically friendly and glad you came The Ambience The ambience is really what makes this place. You can dance on the tables and chairs to the house band, and all are encourages! The young and old, no discrimination - everyone gets blasted and gets an uber home.
