| - The purpose of a Groupon is to mainly attract new clients, and bring back old ones. So my sister and I bought a couple and set our appointments. Our visit was a couple weeks ago, and I am finally writing this review as my 7th nail has just broken...
First off, our appointment was at 5, but we didn't get seated till 5:30.. No problem.. We were able to relax, even though they had started the water for my Sis' pedicure but they said nothing to her about putting her feet in for another 15 minutes.. Mine was started when they had her put her feet in. The girls were attentive, talkative, spoke of the salon, gave us recommendations, etc.. Personal Customer Service is A+.
The nail service, however... Well...
I already had gel on my nails and apologized for not letting my nail tech know ahead of time. No worries, she said, and wrapped my hands in acetone and foil. Once done, she immediately started taking them off (one by one) - didn't let them sit and used the electronic filer to remove the rest of the gel. Who does that in natural nails? My nails have never been so thin and brittle, and since then, 7 of them have broken. As far as the gel polish, she gave me 2 layers, then decided a 3rd would be best.. The layer is so thin, on top of my filed down natural nails, that within 2 days, is when you could see my nails bending and breaking. that was a waste of time, and glad that I didn't pay the normal $75 it would have cost to get a gel manicure and regular pedicure she said would've been my original price.
I'm sure the nail techs don't treat their regulars that way. And that, I hope is expected.. But as a first time customer, and hearing how great Bond used to be- my doubts were confirmed after this visit.
5/5/16- How can my already broken nails, break again? That's because my nail bed was so soft, and now that it's growing, it's still brittle... I have a nail where it's broken in the nail bed.. Obviously don't want to cut it yet, but it's trimmed as short as it can already be.
