I had called yesterday to see if I can cancel my membership over the phone. My schedule is quite busy and it's difficult to get in . The associate I spoke to said that I must go in person and that there was no way around it. I get it , typically gyms do not make it easy to cancel memberships . So I let her know I'll make some time tomorrow to come in which she said "great we'll see you then". I walk in today and advise the young lady at the front desk I'd like to cancel my membership. She responds that memberships cannot be canceled on the weekend bc managers aren't there on the weekend. I am obviously upset because of the wrong information given just yesterday and ask if maybe she can contact her manager to see what can be done as it doesn't disclose in my contract that I cannot cancel on the weekends. She calls her manager Megan and I'm disgusted at the "manager" response she gave the associate. She made it sound like she was being greatly inconvenienced to be bothered with such a call regarding a customer. Even scolded the associate saying "you only are supposed to call me for emergencies ... not this". If that were so maybe the smart manager should have someone at the gym to handle it or give access to someone else. I always thought this gym was garbage but even more so now. I'll be emailing the corporate office and having my attorney send a formal complaint.
