The Co-Op tries hard to source local food items. So you are paying a premium but quality seems to make the mark. Having come for the weekend we are not entirely certain of all the other options in the Calgary area. But by Whitefish MT standards this was a five star place to shop. Produce was fresh and looked great. Bakery items looked amazing. Real sourdough bread, something that I have to make myself back home. Since quality options are largely nonexistent for purchase. The bagels looked and tasted great, boarding on NY style. We ate these every morning. Bringing them back to the condo for a few minutes in the oven.
Nice selection of cheeses, both local and foreign. We worked through a number of wedges over the weekend. Deli options looked good. Not quite on par with Whole Foods but plenty good enough this far north and this early in the season. Once again, we just done have the options back home. The meat the fish departments looked clean and well kept. Staff looked like they had a good handle on everything.
Plenty of local shoppers moving through. We stopped in just about every day for one thing or another. Hit up the salad bar for lunch on the way back home. Yum.
Will definitely be shopping here on future visits.
