They need to enforce their sanitizing protocols. I have been coming here for about a year now. I have always had a pretty good experience which is why I come back. I am picky about clean salons and instruments, as I used to be in the medical field and know what lurks in a pedi bowl.
Today the tech did not use a liner on the bowl or drop a little purple tablet in the water. Strike one. Next I was given the callous remover treatment and I watched her just pull the tool out of her tub. It had clearly not be sterilized in the proper way. Against my better judgement I let her use it on me. Once finished, she rinsed it off in my water ( the dirty water from my pedicure) wiped it off with a towel and put it back in her tub. Strike two.
My tech was very nice and did a great job on my toes. I just couldn't get past the lack of liner on the bowl or the nasty callous removing tool. Then as I was standing at the desk paying, I watched a woman wipe down the bowl I had just been in, with some towels and start filling it up for the next client! THAT was strike three. I couldn't stop thinking about it all the way home. Got home and washed my feet and disinfected them. Now just hoping I don't end up with a fungus.
Super bummed because I loved this place and have sent many people here. Not sure I can go back. Not worth risking my health.
They are always very busy, which is good. Even being busy, I have never had to wait long as a walk in. Busy isn't a reason to cut corners and not to protect each client though.
