  • A weird sequence of events brought me to the Forest Hills area last night. When I realized I was only a few miles from Squirrel Hill and Asian food deliciousness, I knew I had to make a side adventure, and this adventure brought me to Ramen Bar. I love real ramen (now that I realize it's not the top ramen of dorm room days), but I'm far from an expert, so I asked the server for a recommendation. Without hesitation, he recommended the Tan Tan Men. While I overestimated my spiciness tolerance, this was delicious stuff! Very flavorful broth, perfectly cooked noodles, tasty beef, and spinach. Soooo good but soooo hot. And, at $10 for a giant bowl of soup, a great deal! All of the servers were very friendly. I was by myself, and they found me a seat immediately at the bar, which was nice. I don't get a chance to go into Pittsburgh itself all that often, but next time I do, I may be making a return to Ramen Bar.
