  • I've always been a loyal AMC Esplanade customer. For the past 3-4 few years, AMC on camelback has been our go-to theater. I can't remember the last time I've been to a "regular" theater. Like the other reviewers have pointed out, you become spoiled after you go to a dine in. I've never been particularly a fan of their food, but it's always an enjoyable experience nonetheless. Last night was the first time that I had a disappointing experience. I wasn't very hungry so I ordered from the Kid's menu, specifically the chicken tenders ($8). The menu had stated that it came with a drink and a fruit cup. I had asked the server for coke as my drink of choice. At the end of the movie, as I was about to sign my tab, I was surprised to find that they had charged me separately for the coke ($5). I went to the front desk area to voice my concern, and one of the staff members rudely told me that it would be a while before she can help me with my tab. She walked out and came back with who I assumed was the manager. I voiced to her my concern, telling her that I thought the kids meal came with a coke which I was charged separately for. She told me that I was not allowed to order from the kid's meal and that was the reason why I was charged. I told her that the server did not inform me that this was the case, and that had I known this I would not have ordered from the kid's menu. The manager made it seem like my fault, and was adamant that she would not take the $5 off my tab. The manager almost made me feel like I should be thankful they "allowed" me to order from the kid's menu. I didn't get their logic. They charged me $8 for a kid's size portion of chicken tenders, without bringing me the fruit cup that was supposed to accompany it (which I didn't realize until the very end), and charged me $5 separately for a glass of coke. It's disappointing - it's not about the money. It's about the principle.
