As another summer comes to an end, I once again wish I spent more time on the island.
Ward's Island gets 5 stars for a few quick reasons:
1) Their beach is my favourite beach in Toronto. Just good vibes from the people there, the beach is typically pretty clean, and the water has Blue Flag certification.
2) The disc golf course is located in this stretch of the islands, and is a fantastic course with 2 different basket placements on each hole. There are some very long and challenging holes, and I've even lost my share of discs in the water, but I still love coming here to play.
3) Between the Rectory and Island Cafe, there are decent lunch options while out on Wards Island.
For a $7.50 ferry ride, it's hard to think of a better way to kill a summertime afternoon.
