| - My brakes had been squeaking the past few days, so I turned to Yelp to lead me to a good brake shop. Professional Brake Service came up as pretty much the only place with multiple positive reviews. So even though it is on the absolute opposite side of town from me and I had to get past an accident on the I-15 to get there, I'd still say it was absolutely worth it to go here. Jeff, the owner, greeted me at the door and was very friendly, offering coffee, today's paper, my choice of TV station. Craig went over the initial inspection with me and explained what would be needed and why and it all made as much sense as it could to my could-care-less-about cars-girl brain. The important thing is I didn't feel like I was being hustled like I usually am at auto shops. They ended up replacing my rear brake pads, the rear hardware, and resurfacing (I think that's the right word) all of the rotors. It cost just under $300, which I suppose is a fair price and based on what others have said they've paid, sounds about right. Jeff said they are a bit more expensive than other places but the quality is much better... talk about honesty! Labor is $85 per hour, so that was over half of the bill. Also, two of the message lights in my dash have been turning on on occasion for the past year or so. Another one of their mechanics, Donny came out and explained to me what it meant, how it happened (likely a faulty battery installation by Sears), and the pros and cons of getting it fixed. He said the dealership would have to fix it since it had to do with the car's computer system, and he gave me some guys' names and told me to tell them I'm a friend of his. All around great service- they actually kinda made me feel like one of the guys!
