  • I used to love this store and at one time in the past I wrote a 5-star review for it on Yelp. But the store has gone downhill and become very dishonest. It now deserves a 1-star rating. They constantly have things marked as sales, but often when I get to the cash register, it rings it up at the non-sale price. And this is occurring EVERY time I shop there for the past several months. I don't buy much, so it's easy to catch, but the shopper who's buying a lot of groceries, is getting charged at the higher price and likely never noticing. Very sneaky and dishonest, Albertson's. This afternoon I purchased 4 jars of raspberry preserves that were priced at $3.49 regular, $2.49 sale and $1.99 if purchasing 4. I purchased 4. At the cash register they rang up as $3.49 each. I said that that isn't the sale price. The cashier came went to the shelves where the jams are and came back and took $2.00 off my bill. I then told her that she needs to take another $4.00 off. She ran back to look at the price on the shelves again. Then she when she came back, she gave me a refund for the additional $4.07 ($4 plus tax as I had already paid with only the $2.00 deducted). A lot of hassle to be charged $1.99/each instead of $3.49/each ($1.50/each times 4 jars = $6.00). Yes, I can do the math and knew you were still overcharging me even after the first attempt to make it right. Over the past several months, it's been other sales items I've been over charged. And it's always been a hassle as I've even been required by cashiers to run back to the shelf and take a picture of the correct sales price with my iPhone before they'd charge me the correct price. And your Buy 1, Get 2 Free type sales are ripoffs also because you just raise the per-unit price significantly in order to put the item on such a sale. For example, recently I noticed that your chuck steak (on a Buy 1 Get 2 Free special) had a $/lb price tag that was more expensive than sirloin steak. Really? I'm not that stupid. Never again will I shop at your store. There are other grocery stores nearby that do a more honest business. (I can't shop at Safeway either since Safeway and Albertson's are the same company.)
