| - After completing my purchase, Amanda placed my receipt in the bag and said nothing. There was no appreciation for my purchase or having been a customer at all. But Amanda and the other teller were being OVERLY apologetic towards the 2 white customers that were in the store wanting to checkout. They apologized to them several times for having to wait to finish my purchase, and for having to move to a different cash register.
But I was the one who was truly inconvenienced, and no one was apologizing to me for my having to wait. The register rang up the wrong amount. I pointed it out to the teller, and even walk with him to the location of the pricing tag for that item. He acknowledged the inconsistency. I had even presented a 'Loyalty coupon' for $5 when he was ringing up the transaction. Since he'd already wrung up the transaction, and applied the coupon, I was given 2 alternatives... to pay for the product twice (pay, then be refunded, and then do the transaction over), or pay and be given a $5 discount for a future purchase. He said he didn't know how to void the transaction. I pointed out that the other person could ring me up, and then he could deal with that issue, as he needed to call his manager. So that's when I had to go to the other register, and deal with Amanda.
Amanda rang me up without saying a word. And as I said, didn't even say anything afterwards either. Amanda even treated me as if I was getting hostile, when I brought my concern about her service to her attention. But she couldn't follow through because I never raised my voice, and was polite as possible while trying to be assertive about the poor service I'd just received. I started to bring the concern to her attention and she flat out ignored me. She eventually said, 'I am working with the other customer'. The other customer was a white female. The other customer nicely stepped away and allowed me to address my concern. Amanda had nothing to say. I even asked her if she thought that she'd given me good service. Her response was have a nice day.
Not once did anyone apologize to me. Apologize for the inaccuracy of the charge, having to possibly do 2 transactions, or having to move to another register. But the 2 white custumers were showered with it. And then to compound things, she truly stretched to make it seem like I was being hostile. Truly a bad experience.
