This is one of the very few places in Plaza Midwood where consistency and service are NEVER a problem, probably why they've been killing the game for so long.
This place is super cozy and quaint, decorated with yellow gingham vinyl table cloths and mismatched photos, it's kind of like being at your grandma's house... this applies to the food too. It's a good low-key jeans and tshirt date spot. Maybe ask to sit downstairs, the upstairs has always been a little prison-y to me with the painted cinder block walls.
What you should order:
-chocolate pecan pie (get it heated up) is to die for. I can't even describe how good it is. If you're getting it to go, ask for the whipped cream on the side.
-salmon patties. I don't even like salmon and I love these.
-chicken and dumplings.
They've got killer drink specials, lotion in the bathrooms, and purchasable local art on the walls to boot!
