Upon entering Xcycle you are immediately greeted at the front desk. I signed a waiver and since I had singed up on line through ClassPass my bike was also preassigned to me. I brought my own shoes but they have them available for rent for $2. I arrived early, per the studio email I received, and was taken on a tour, shown to my bike and introduced to the instructor. Also, no need to bring a towel as one is waiting for you on your bike The storefront is deceptive in that once you are inside it's a much larger space than it appears from the street. It's located between Savvy and Grimaldi's in Boca Park. There is a sitting area with lockers. In addition, there is a changing room and a locker room with shower facilities stocked with amenities.
On this visit I signed up for the 45 minute RHYTHMX ride with Kat M. This ride wasn't necessarily for me but that doesn't mean it won't be for you! This is their signature choreographed ride and hand weights are utilized for a segment of the ride. Even though I was not into "dancing" on my bike I still got an excellent workout and didn't feel uncomfortable not participating in those portions and instead just mimicking the instructor as far as being in or out of the saddle. Kat is a great instructor, the music was good and the club feel of the lights is fun. At the end of the ride you are given a chilled eucalyptus towel.
This class was not at full capacity, which I think I heard mentioned is about 36 bikes so there was no one next to me. I had an empty bike on one side and a walled mirror on the other. Had it been at capacity it might have felt a little tight especially during the upper body weight exercises and the cool down stretch. Being next to the mirror I had to be cognizant not to hit it when it came to those portions.
Afterwards, the same person that gave me the tour let me know that I might prefer the PERFORM-X RIDE or the TRIBE RIDE as their is no "dancing," so I look forward to checking out those classes in the future.
