| - Location is okay, the store itself is pretty average. But this is definitely a pet store that I feel more comfortable with compared to some of the larger chain stores.
I like just going in to visit the animals. Burton's has birds, guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters, turtles, etc. Sometimes even chickens. No cats or dogs at this pet store. You must go and visit Rufus, the grey bird you'll notice to your left when entering the store. He's a funny fella... does a whole range of interesting noises. That bird is good at doing exact imitations of cash register and phone noises; must drive the employees crazy though. Also if you're looking for bunnies, this location has the biggest selection of lionhead rabbits I've come across. I know many people have an issue with getting pets from pet stores rather than adoption centers, but honestly Burton's seems to have some good policies for buying pets. I got a rabbit there and they would not sell you the rabbit unless you also purchased selected cages to go along with it. Cages came with the necessities, food, water bottle, etc. and ran about $200 but I was impressed that they had a policy like that. I know some people aren't a fan of it but to me it shows they aren't just willing to give away pets to any random who wants one and that they care about whether or not you are serious about taking care of the pet and getting them a proper sized cage rather than squeezing a bun into a small cage.
