Yet another self-serve weigh-and-pay frozen yogurt joint. The product itself was fine but there was nothing special about the atmosphere, service, or pricing. Or the annoyingly huge containers just begging you to fill them all the way up and blow all your cash and calories for the day.
The decor is the same sort of cold, bland, futuristic vibe as Mojo and Yogurtini (how do I even keep all these places straight anymore?). The 'cherry on top' for me was that unlike some fro-yo places, they actually take American Express.
Cherry On Top has a pretty wide variety of flavors and toppings, with something for everyone. I went with the taro and peanut butter frozen yogurts and added carob chips and chocolate sprinkles. My friend had taro and green tea topped with exotic lychee jelly.
Strangely, the employee told us that two of the items we asked about (the taro yogurt and the lychee jelly) were "weird." Was that part of her job training? Dissuade customers from branching out and trying the less commonplace items? Was their inventory running low?
Maybe my friend and I are a bit weird ourselves, as we still went ahead and sampled those items. Both were actually delicious. So the moral of this Cherry On Top story is: don't let employees scare you away from trying whatever looks good to you. And also, check out Cherry On Top if you've got a fro-yo craving and you're in the area.
