| - We stayed here the weekend before Valentine's Day. The check-in process was smooth, and the manager was friendly enough. We weren't told about the hold that would be placed on our debit card, though we kind of assumed there may be one and forgot to ask. I believe it was an extra $100ish. The grounds are beautiful, but walking to our room, you can see that the hotel needs some upgrading and maintenance. Things such as paint and stuff. The sidewalks seem a little narrow.
We were upgraded to a third story corner room with a balcony. It overlooked the parking lot, but was nice to actually be higher up and on the corner. Upon walking up to the room, there was a leftover pizza box, wings and soda outside our room. It was still there the next morning. The room was in decent shape. Not perfect, but it actually wasn't that bad. There were a few cosmetic things that needed fixing, but nothing horrible. We didn't like that there wasn't a fridge, though. And, the mattress was super hard. We didn't get much sleep due to that.
I'm giving it three stars because although a lot of the grounds are pretty, it does need some upgrading.
