| - Been going to this gym for about a month now and so far, I can honestly say I enjoy the experience.
The gym itself is very clean. The people who use the machines do a good job in cleaning up after themselves when they're done using something. Theres staff that go around and clean the machines just in case someone "forgets" to clean up. All the staff members I've come across were friendly and they always greet you as you walk in. The locker rooms, showers and restrooms are all well kept. They even have a VIP area that houses massage chairs, tanning chambers and a hydromassage bed. Which I'll touch up more on those later.
The gym is laid out into certain sections, as is almost every other gym. (I.e. Leg area, upper arms area, free weights section.) The difference here is that they have special areas called "30 Minute Workout" and "12 Minute Abs". 30 Minute Workout is an area with yellow machines that each person takes turns using. There is a Red light and Green light in this section. When the light is red, you use a machine. When the light turns green, you switch. It's like circuit training. You go around until you've used all the machines in the section.
12 minute abs is pretty self explanatory. It's a section of the gym where you workout nothing but your abs for 12 minutes.
They also have a VIP section, as I stated earlier. The VIP differs from the regular membership. It costs $20 with a 1 year contract. Though it's a steal with the benefits you get. Which grants you access to the VIP area, half off the drinks they sell, access to ALL Planet Fitness gyms across the country, and unlimited guest access. Which means you can bring a buddy to workout with you every time you visit.
Their biggest image they like to push is that they are a "Judgement Free Gym". They have signs all around that encourage you that "You Belong" and "No Gymtimidation". They even have this thing called the Lunk alarm. Which is an actual siren that goes off if someone grunts while they're working out or if someone drops the weights. I like the message they're trying to convey, though it's a bit hypocritical considering that it's a "judgement free zone" yet they name the hardcore gym rats "Lunks". Their Dumbbells only go up to 75lbs, and they do not have a proper squat rack. You can really tell it's a gym for people that wanna workout casually or for people that are just starting out in the body building world.
Overall, it's a perfect gym for beginners, or the casual athlete. They do a great job in really making you feel comfortable inside the gym and they do an even better job in keeping the place clean. However, if you are serious about getting big or going hard in your workouts, you will quickly outgrow this place, and even set off a few Lunk alarms in the process.
