  • I scheduled an appointment ahead of time through Apple Support and arrived 5 mins before my appointment. The store was pretty busy so they had me sit in a corner for about 15 minutes (10mins after my appointment) when I was called to be "helped" by Steve. My issue was that my wife had purchased an Apple Watch for my birthday the less than a week prior and the corner of the face got scratched while I was at the beach Memorial Day weekend (need these watches away from sand apparently). My wife purchased Apple Care for the watch and the lady on the phone told me they would send it off to be replaced or just give me a new one since I had just bought the watch a few days prior. Everything was going well until I sat with Steve. For one he wasn't paying attention to my concerns because he was too busy trying to multitask and help a lady set up her i-Cloud (even though I had an appointment!). Secondly he was very smug when I asked him about options to protect my watch. The scratch causes me to not be able to place screen protectors on my watch because they can't stick and keep peeling off. He said Apple considers these a timepiece so he couldn't recommend any cases or screen protectors for my watch "but a simple internet search could help me find what I'm looking for". Thanks genius. To add insult to injury he made the comment that he's "had his watch for a while and has never had any issues with scratches". Good for you, but that doesn't really help my situation. Lastly he told me that the watch wasn't damaged enough to send it in for repair and that they couldn't offer me a replacement in the store, totally contradicting what I was told over the phone. He ended the conversation with a very smug "well I couldn't get the scratches out but I was able to get the watch all nice and shiny for you!" Thanks Steve, I wasted 30 minutes of my life so that you could wipe my watch with a rag.
