| - Although I can't prove anything yet, and I have a team of private detectives on this one, I get the feeling that if a waiter or waitress is caught not treating a customer either disdainfully or disinterestedly (or some paradoxical combination of the two) and making the customer wait a minimum of 30-60 minutes for everything, they'll be tied to a light pole and flogged.
I've been here quite a few times over the years, often reluctantly, and the food has routinely been average or slightly above. There's a reason there's such a great happy hour and, on top of that, different great drink specials every day of the week. You get loaded and what is normally a 3.5-star food experience turns into a big ol' 5-star drunken, balls-out food orgy in your mouth.
I have to be honest, though, one time I did receive a server who actually made eye-contact, was relatively attentive, and smiled (or had gas, hard to tell) once. There was also the one waiter who asked if the food was alright without slowing down or looking in our direction. In the past, I noticed a very friendly waitress with dark hair. How come I never get her?
The burger is a pretty "safe" choice, despite using a hip Italian loaf-bread as a bun (read: ciabatta). Unlike many other hip restaurants that use ciabatta buns, it didn't overshadow the burger, cause the roof of your mouth to go raw, or make all of the ingredients slide out the back with each bite. The meat is normally well-seasoned. Thank goodness they haven't moved on to the ultra-hip French dessert egg-bread (read: brioche) for their burger. That really has no place even in the same room as a burger.
Oh, and the harissa fries are rather good, despite the harissa being a bit "off" for a harissa. As for the flatbread pizzas, er.. "kisras", they are often hit-or-miss, but in my experience, you're more likely to get a hit with the lamb one.
